Any burning questions before your class with Pride? Read on!

I'VE NEVER DONE YOGA BEFORE, ARE YOUR CLASSES SUITABLE?

Yes :)! All classes I teach are built on from a foundation stage, and you add on from this foundation to deepen and explore full poses as your practice progresses.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Regular sports clothes will do the job!
Shorts with a net and a t-shirt/vest for the guys; leggings/shorts and a t-shirt/vest for the ladies are perfect.
Just make sure you are comfortable :)

I HAVE AN INJURY, AM I OKAY TO PRACTICE?

Before undertaking any new exercise regimen (Yoga included) it is always best to ensure you have clearance to proceed from your GP or consultant; especially in the case of recovering from an injury. 
On the class registration form, you will be asked for detail of conditions/injuries so I can review and suggest relevant modifications, as long as you have GP approval to practice. You must disclose all conditions/injuries - if I don't know about it, I can't make sure you are getting the most out of class.

You also need basic mobility including being able to get on and off the floor unaided.

WHAT TYPE OF YOGA CAN I EXPECT?

I predominantly teach Hatha Yoga and Flow Yoga, either as an all-over workout or for specific sports; such as cycling.

DO I HAVE TO BRING ANY EQUIPMENT WITH ME?

We provide Mats for you; you'll just need to bring yourself, a bottle of water and come dressed to move! 

HOW IS PRIDE
YOGA DIFFERENT FROM OTHER YOGA TEACHERS?

I teach verbally as much as possible, which means I can check in on the students in class; making sure their alignment is safe and helping their yoga journey.
Every person is different and there is a teacher for everyone out there.Try a few different classes, yoga styles and teachers and see who and what really resonates with you.

IS YOGA SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE?

In a group class as long as you have basic mobility and can kneel and get on to and off the floor unaided; yes! 
If not, a private practice may be a better option as props such as chairs can be used to achieve the same actions.

SHOULD I EAT BEFORE CLASS?

It's always a good idea to have something light at least 1.5-2 hours before class like a banana or protein bar. Heavy meals definitely aren't a good idea as it's not very nice to twist or backbend on a full tummy!

I'M NOT BENDY ENOUGH TO DO YOGA...

Flexibility and strength are consequences of practicing yoga! We weren't all born bendy; we've gained flexibility over years of practice :) Don't let the Yogi pretzels of Instagram put you off, give it a crack and you might surprise yourself!

I'M A GUY... YOGA IS FOR GIRLS, I'LL BE THE ODD ONE OUT!

Nah! Originally, yoga originates from monks to get them in to the right mental place for meditation. Monks were men. No ladies were allowed. 

Today; top sports people including the England football team, Northampton Saints Rugby and many more use Yoga as a complement and addition to their other sporting activity providing them with better injury resilience, mental focus and loads more skills. 

Lots of guys practice, so why not join in?

We offer a variety of different pricing options to suit - check out our GROUP CLASSES page for details. 

HOW LONG ARE YOUR CLASSES?

Our group classes are 60 minutes. Workshops or special classes are generally longer than this; but check the specific class or workshop description.
