WHAT TO EXPECT
STYLE: Interactive discussion, Yin Yoga & Guided Meditation
We'll talk about stress and anxiety, what happens in our body when we are stressed and/or anxious, how to recognise your symptoms and then move into learning yoga techniques to add to our toolkits to tackle and manage the onset of stress and/or anxiety.
We will be looking at breathing practices to reduce symptoms then move into a yin yoga and guided meditation practice.
CLASS AIM: Learn techniques to manage your stress and/or anxiety symptoms, relax, improve mobility.
You'll walk away equipped with some tools to tackle your symptoms and the ability to recognise what stress & anxiety looks like for you, better understanding what happens in your body and why.

I'VE NEVER DONE YOGA BEFORE, BUT I'M DEFINITELY STRESSED AND ANXIOUS!... IS IT SUITABLE FOR ME?
Yes! It is absolutely suitable for everyone - no yoga experience at all is needed!
The aim of the workshop is to learn a range of techniques from a yoga practice that you can apply da-to-day off your mat, it's not just about yoga poses, it is about breath practices, visualisations and mediations too.
WHY IS THERE A DISCUSSION?
Good question! Having suffered with extreme stress and anxiety for a significant time myself, I found it incredibly empowering and beneficial to learn about what was happening in my body, the wide range of symptoms that you wouldn't commonly associate with stress and/or anxiety.
Simply, if you know more about what is happening to you and are more able to recognise what your symptoms are - it is easier to find the best tool to tackle what is actually happening.
It's basically a session that I'll deliver, whilst you sit back and have a cup of tea so we can build a deeper understanding of why these practices work so amazingly well.
WHY ARE THESE YOGA PRACTICES? THEY'RE NOT ALL POSES...
There's so much more to yoga than just poses - that's just one of an eight part approach to yoga.
Lots of disciplines reach into yoga to borrow the ideas. Breathwork (pranayama), meditation (dhyana) are tools that are thousands of years old stretching back into the earliest days of yoga and form two of the eight parts of yoga.
These are 100% yoga practices. If you meditate or visualise, you're practicing yoga. It's just a different lens of looking at one element rather than them all together as complementary practices.
